Humility is the word of the week because every single reading today talks about being humbled, so I think we should talk about it. Have you ever thought about humility? What does that mean to you? Humility is where we put our own importance below other things and with a Christian take on it, below God. I think that is what God trying to for us to understand today, that God is more important than us. We should be humble of heart and make God first in our lives.

Do we do this? Are we humble? Do we think we are better than anyone else? I am sure a time or two we have, that what we have done or are doing is more important than what other people are doing. This could be what we are doing for Church, this could be anything from leading a retreat or any group to just cleaning up the pews after mass, do we think that what we are doing is the so important that everyone should care about it and pay attention to it. Are we doing these things because we want people to think we are so important, or are we doing them just for God? If you did not know, do it for God.

Brothers and sisters, it can be hard to be humble, because we humans love praise and honor. We love to be important and look up to, but God today is telling us to meek and humble and do things for our salvation or the salvations of others and not to win praise and honors. So, ask yourself this question, what is the real reason we do something? I mean a real reason that is deep down within you, not the reason what you tell yourself to make yourself feel better. Are we doing it to hear excellent job, or you are so talented or are we doing it to help God or our neighbor.

Humility is key to everything, and God see the humility and will reward us for it. The reason humility is key is because it is God at work, and we only have a little part to play. It is God and the Holy Spirit that is truly working through you to make whatever changes you see. Our talents are just helping God work in our lives and other people’s lives. He is the true reason for whatever changes. We only play a small part in it. I think this is important to remember to stay humble. God is the main person working in your lives and with the people around us. If you children are good is because God is helping your family. If you got a raise or promotion at work, it is because God gave you the talents to succussed. And there are many more that God has done for you and will continue to help you. Therefore, give God all the praise for everything that he is doing in your lives.  

If we are humble or meek then as we hear in the Gospel today, then we will inherit the land. We will give everything if we stay humble and focus on God. Our reward is being built up in Heaven, where it matters the most. Heaven is our goal and where we belong and it is something that God wants for us, but we have been given the choice to be humble and meek and make God more important than ourselves. Or we could choose to receive all the praise and honor that this world can give us and lose heaven. The choice is yours, so what are you going to choose?

Humildad es la palabra de la semana porque cada lectura de hoy habla de ser humilde, así que creo que deberíamos hablar de eso. ¿Alguna vez has pensado en la humildad? ¿Qué significa eso para usted? La humildad es donde ponemos nuestra propia importancia por debajo de otras cosas y con una actitud cristiana, por debajo de Dios. Creo que eso es lo que Dios está tratando de que entendamos hoy, que Dios es más importante que nosotros. Debemos ser humildes de corazón y poner a Dios primero en nuestras vidas.

¿Hacemos esto? ¿Somos humildes? ¿Creemos que somos mejores que los demás? Estoy seguro de que en un momento o dos tenemos que lo que hemos hecho o estamos haciendo es más importante que lo que están haciendo otras personas. Esto podría ser lo que estamos haciendo por la Iglesia, esto podría ser cualquier cosa, desde dirigir un retiro o cualquier grupo hasta simplemente limpiar las bancas después de la misa, ¿creemos que lo que estamos haciendo es tan importante que todos deberían preocuparse y pagar? atención a ello. ¿Estamos haciendo estas cosas porque queremos que la gente piense que somos muy importantes, o las estamos haciendo solo para Dios? Si no lo sabías, hazlo por Dios.

Hermanos y hermanas, puede ser difícil ser humilde, porque los seres humanos amamos la alabanza y el honor. Nos encanta ser importantes y admirar, pero Dios hoy nos dice que seamos mansos y humildes y que hagamos cosas para nuestra salvación o la salvación de otros y no para ganar alabanzas y honores. Entonces, hágase esta pregunta, ¿cuál es la verdadera razón por la que hacemos algo? Me refiero a una razón real que está muy dentro de ti, no la razón por la que te dices a ti mismo para sentirte mejor. ¿Lo estamos haciendo para escuchar un excelente trabajo, o eres tan talentoso o lo estamos haciendo para ayudar a Dios oa nuestro prójimo?

La humildad es la clave de todo, y Dios ve la humildad y nos recompensará por ello. La razón por la cual la humildad es clave es porque es Dios obrando, y solo tenemos una pequeña parte que desempeñar. Es Dios y el Espíritu Santo quienes realmente están trabajando a través de ti para hacer cualquier cambio que veas. Nuestros talentos solo están ayudando a Dios a obrar en nuestras vidas y en las vidas de otras personas. Él es la verdadera razón de cualquier cambio. Solo jugamos un pequeño papel en ello. Creo que es importante recordar esto para mantener la humildad. Dios es la persona principal que obra en vuestras vidas y con las personas que nos rodean. Si ustedes hijos son buenos es porque Dios está ayudando a su familia. Si obtuviste un aumento de sueldo o una promoción en el trabajo, es porque Dios te dio los talentos para sucusar. Y hay muchas más que Dios ha hecho por ti y te seguirá ayudando. Por lo tanto, denle a Dios toda la alabanza por todo lo que está haciendo en sus vidas.

Si somos humildes o mansos entonces como escuchamos en el Evangelio de hoy, entonces heredaremos la tierra. Lo daremos todo si nos mantenemos humildes y nos enfocamos en Dios. Nuestra recompensa se está construyendo en el Cielo, donde más importa. El cielo es nuestra meta y lugar al que pertenecemos y es algo que Dios quiere para nosotros, pero se nos ha dado la opción de ser humildes y mansos y hacer que Dios sea más importante que nosotros mismos. O podemos optar por recibir toda la alabanza y el honor que este mundo nos puede dar y perder el cielo. La elección es tuya, entonces, ¿qué vas a elegir?
